CWCI is part of the Centennial neighborhood, which is considered to be one of Winnipeg's oldest communities.
Built in 1903, our building was originally used to move train freight to and from warehouses, hence the nickname Freighthouse. In 1973, CWCI was established as part of a community initiative to add a space where families can come together.
Now proudly called the Central Community Centre, we are a volunteer-run community club with a variety of activities such as bingos, food bank, arts and crafts and sports programs.
